Report an Error

Homeowner.ca is committed to accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement. If you have found an error on the Site — whether it is a factual mistake, a broken link, outdated product information, a technical problem, or an accessibility barrier — we want to know about it.

Reporting errors helps us maintain the quality and reliability that Canadian homeowners depend on. We take every report seriously and aim to investigate and resolve issues promptly.

What to Report

Content Errors

  • Factual inaccuracies — Incorrect statistics, dates, specifications, regulatory references, or other factual claims
  • Outdated information — Product models that have been discontinued, pricing that has changed significantly, regulations that have been updated, or programmes that are no longer available
  • Misleading or unclear language — Statements that could be misinterpreted or that do not accurately represent the topic
  • Missing context — Important caveats, regional differences, or safety considerations that should be included
  • Spelling and grammar errors — While minor, we appreciate reports of any typos or language issues

Product Review Errors

  • Incorrect product specifications — Wrong dimensions, capacity, power ratings, or other technical details
  • Inaccurate pricing — Product prices that are significantly out of date or incorrect for the Canadian market
  • Availability issues — Products listed as available in Canada that are no longer sold here, or products shown at retailers where they are no longer stocked
  • Missing product updates — New model versions, important recalls, or specification changes that should be reflected in our reviews

Technical Issues

  • Broken links — Links that lead to error pages, incorrect destinations, or pages that no longer exist
  • Display problems — Pages that do not render correctly, images that fail to load, or layout issues on specific devices or browsers
  • Performance issues — Pages that load unusually slowly or features that are unresponsive
  • Mobile issues — Content that is difficult to read, navigate, or interact with on mobile devices

Accessibility Barriers

If you are experiencing an accessibility barrier (such as content that does not work with your screen reader or insufficient colour contrast), you may report it here or on our dedicated Accessibility Support page, which provides more detailed guidance for accessibility reports.

How to Report

To report an error, please email us at:

Email: admin@pointform.com

Please include "Error Report" in the subject line.

What to Include

To help us investigate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible, please include as much of the following information as you can:

  • Page URL — The web address of the page where you found the error
  • Description of the error — What is incorrect and, if possible, what the correct information should be
  • Source or reference (optional) — If you know the correct information, a link to a reliable source helps us verify and update quickly
  • Screenshot (optional) — For display or technical issues, a screenshot showing the problem is very helpful
  • Your browser and device — For technical or display issues, knowing your browser (e.g., Chrome, Safari, Firefox) and device (e.g., desktop, iPhone, Android tablet) helps us reproduce the problem

You do not need to include all of the above — any information you can provide is helpful.

What Happens After You Report

  1. Acknowledgement — We aim to acknowledge your report within two business days.
  2. Investigation — Our editorial or technical team will review the reported issue. For content errors, we verify facts against reliable sources. For technical issues, we attempt to reproduce the problem.
  3. Resolution — Once confirmed, we correct the error. Content corrections are made directly on the page. Significant factual corrections are noted in accordance with our Editorial Policy.
  4. Follow-up — If you have provided your email address, we will let you know when the issue has been resolved.

For complex issues that require more time to investigate, we will provide an interim update.

Our Corrections Policy

Homeowner.ca maintains a transparent corrections policy as part of our commitment to editorial integrity:

  • Minor corrections (typos, formatting, minor clarifications) are made directly and do not require a correction notice.
  • Significant factual corrections (incorrect product specifications, inaccurate regulatory references, misleading claims) are corrected and noted with a brief correction notice on the affected page.
  • Major corrections (errors that materially affect a product recommendation or editorial conclusion) are corrected with a prominent correction notice explaining what changed and why.

For full details, see our Editorial Policy.
